Unconventional Therapy
Looking beyond pain, treating dysfunction
Tri-Planar Movement Therapies is a unique approach to achieving health and fitness with compassionate and comprehensive care, one person at a time.

Our physical therapy uses the Postural Restoration approach and Pilates, two effective modalities that train your body to function at its best in multiple planes of movement. This training occurs at the joint level, as well as holistically, to help the entire body function cohesively.
What is Tri-Planar Movement
We move and function simultaneously in all three cardinal planes: Sagittal (right/left), Frontal (front/back), and Transverse (up/down), as well as a multitude of other planes to slide, glide and swing.

With movement, each joint and their surrounding muscles must dynamically function in all these planes for proper performance.
Physical Therapy
Through the use of specialized corrective exercises that address postural patterns and muscle imbalances, neuro-motor balance is achieved between the left and right sides of the body.
Faulty posture and movement patterns are often the underlying cause of chronic pain or injury. With proper positioning, the joints and muscles of your body can work in a more efficient manner with the least amount of strain.
Performance
Considering the three predominant planes of motion, if one plane is overworked through occupational or fitness demands, our body can get 'stuck'. 'Stuck' meaning that it is hard to move in the direction opposite of that position without strain. This occurs at the additional expense of not being able to move well in other planes of motion.
Our Practices
Our Sessions
Each 60-minute session will focus on an assessment and individualized plan to maximize your physical potential in all these planes. By addressing faulty posture and movement patterns that are often the underlying cause of pain or dysfunction, symptoms will resolve. TPMT utilizes touch, technique and teaching to maximize treatment results. This will accelerate your healing time, require fewer sessions, as well as assure more complete recovery following injury.
